Hello everyone,

I have a question about the petfood-score ABCDE concept. If the information on pet food labels is often incomplete, unclear, or even unreliable, why do we still base an ABCDE scoring system on these data?

Isn’t there a risk that the score itself will be biased or misleading if the underlying label information is not fully trustworthy? I would be interested to know how this issue is taken into account, and whether there are ways to improve the reliability of the score despite these limitations.

Thank you in advance for your insights and explanations.

Frédéric Gonnot
Statistics: Posted by Frédéric Gonnot — Tue May 26, 2026 4:27 pm

This section is dedicated to common misconceptions in pet food evaluation, with the aim of bringing clarity to ideas that are often simplified, exaggerated, or misunderstood.

Pet nutrition is a complex topic, yet many concepts are reduced to easy-to-share statements that spread quickly online. Over time, these statements can become widely accepted, even when they are based on incomplete reasoning or misinterpretation of data.

This space focuses on examining those recurring beliefs by placing them back into context. It explores where these ideas come from, why they are appealing, and how they can lead to incorrect conclusions when taken at face value.

The objective is not to systematically contradict, but to encourage a more nuanced understanding. By looking at the underlying assumptions and limitations behind certain claims, users can develop a more critical and informed perspective.

This section does not provide definitive answers or simplified rules. Instead, it offers a framework for questioning, analyzing, and interpreting information more carefully.

A space designed to move beyond shortcuts and build a clearer understanding of pet food evaluation.

Statistics: Posted by petfood advisor — Tue Apr 28, 2026 9:17 am
