Hello everyone,

My name is Emily, I live in Montreal, Canada, and I recently joined the Petfood Advisor community after spending several months searching for reliable information about dog and cat nutrition.

I currently share my home with two rescue cats, Luna and Milo, as well as a senior Labrador named Cooper. Like many pet owners, I used to rely mainly on marketing claims, colorful packaging, and recommendations found on social media. After a while, I realized how confusing the pet food world can become. One website says a product is “perfect,” another claims it is “dangerous,” while some Facebook groups spread very alarming information without any real sources or explanations.

What interested me about this forum is the more neutral and fact-based approach. I appreciate discussions that focus on analytical constituents, ingredients, feeding practices, manufacturing transparency, and nutritional interpretation instead of emotional debates or simplistic “good vs bad” rankings.

I am especially interested in topics such as:

Understanding carbohydrate levels in kibble
Differences between dry food and wet food
Reading ingredient labels correctly
Senior dog nutrition
Indoor cat feeding strategies
How marketing influences consumer perception in pet food
The reliability of online pet food “scores” and rankings

Professionally, I work in graphic design, but nutrition and animal welfare have become a real passion over the last few years. I also enjoy comparing products available in different countries because formulations often vary a lot between Europe and North America.

I hope to learn from the community, exchange experiences, and contribute useful information whenever possible. I believe consumers need calmer, more transparent discussions about pet nutrition, especially with the growing amount of sensational content circulating online.

Looking forward to reading your posts and discovering more about your pets and feeding routines.

Emily
